October 7 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm£10 - £12
Tom Glover is back hosting another evening of hilarious stand-up.
This month’s headliner is Chris Purchase who is currently taking the comedy scene by storm with his mix of light hearted anecdotes and cultural satire. After going viral last year Chris’ popularity has rocketed and you can now see him performing in all of the major UK comedy clubs.
His new show ‘Distant’ had a sell-out run at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival 2017, he has twice been nominated for What’s On magazine’s Best Comedian (2016 & 2017) and was recently hand-picked to support Reginald D. Hunter on tour.
“Had the crowd roaring, lapped it up . Full of energy, loud, charismatic. Lovely.” (The Stand)
“Charismatic and entertaining” (Comedy Central)
Opener – Richard James
Richard James is a hilarious lovable west country fop with an obsession for his homeland, along with a fondness for the absurd and the awkward details of life. Richard is also an unashamed nerd for history and science fiction and a finalist in Foster’s South Coast Comedian of the Year.
He has performed across the UK on pro-bills alongside the great and the good, from festivals to corporate functions, to theatres and little pubs and in February 2015 he majestically crossed the Atlantic and performed in the USA, in New York and Baltimore.
“’quick wit and hilarious anecdotes quickly endear him to an expectant crowd.’ New Life Magazine
Middle acts – Riordhan DJ and Stasia Buckle
Riordhan DJ has just returned from the Edinburgh festival where he has burst onto the comedy scene in numerous comedy competitions eventually being crowned as Chortle Student Comedian of the Year. Currently studying at the University of Bristol, Riordhan could well abandon his degree for a life in stand up comedy having been likened to a young James Acaster with a brilliant eye for observational comedy delivered with a uniquely surreal slant.
Stasia Buckle began performing as part of the comedy sketch showmSuicide & Crumble, which she wrote and starred alongside Blake Harrison (Neil from C4’s The Inbetweeners) and BBC Radio regular Matt Addis. Recently listed by We Are Cult as one of the “Stand Up comics to watch out for in 2017” she too is a regular on the Bristol comedy scene and has just returned from the Edinburgh Festival where she performed her show ‘Him, Him and her’ with two fellow Bristol based comics.
