Adapting text – from page to stage

October 5, 2016 @ 7:15 pm - 9:00 pm

Hammerpuzzle Theatre Company are back on tour following their success with ‘King John’ in 2015. This time it is with their distilled adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s romantic, rural novel ‘The Woodlanders’.

Before seeing the show on the 16th of October they are offering an ‘Adapting text – Page to stage’ workshop for our audiences to gain an insight into their working style, methods of adaptation and the production itself. This will be lead by their Associate Director, Bryn Holding, and will take place on the Wed 5th of October 19:15 – 20:45. Come along and join in!

‘The Woodlanders’ – A tale that both intertwines and unravels misplaced affection, fathers and daughters, a woodland community and above all, love. We follow the inhabitants of Little Hintock, as relationships flourish, families transform and all comes full circle with the changing of the seasons. ‘The Woodlanders’ weaves Hammerpuzzle’s unique style of accessible storytelling, with live music, song and an originally composed piano underscore.
